Spong-X's ep The Internet Of Things consists of three tracks of electronic music released for Switch Music Recordings. The concept behind this ep is to put the human being in relationship with the artificial, the virtual, the technology. A bond already expressed in Spong-X's latest album "Inside The Screen". This union between the real and the virtual becomes absolute especially in the second track The Internet of Things, which gives its name to the entire ep. A journey through the evolution of the internet, a sort of happy island for human beings, a promised land, where we have also managed to transfer our emotions and our new way of being. The pandemic period, in which these tracks were produced, led us to move away and change some of our old and dear habits (first track Old Habits), accelerating this process of immersion in a parallel virtual world, where we are in constant connection with the others, but less and less in contact. Melodic synths, techno rhythms, electronic effects and samples with an unmistakable sound, such as the 56k modem, merged to give a virtual voice to these three electronic songs.
