ENG - This work is a reflection about time, how it expands, shrinks and takes on different rhythms and forms. It all depends on how it is translated. Time changes whoever observes it and it’s equally modified by the observer itself. The investigation of time leads to the research for a balance between our finite and limited nature and the indefinite nature of something that can neither be touched nor seen. Thus, musically, this research translates into an alternation and a mix of melody and noise, it goes through dilated atmospheres, close to drone music, and dry and essential grooves. Kana chooses the instrumentation while going in parallel with the search for essentiality and simplicity: synthesizers, a few sampling and the use of noinput mixer as a source of sounds / noise and to provide the manipulation of the sound material. The sound, the tracklist, in which the order of the tracks and the choice of the titles indicate the willing to relate to a journey, so as the idea of releasing a full album in 2021, are all consciously choices out of our time. It is necessary to let be external by the object that one wants to deepen. If it's not possible to completely emancipate oneself from the temporal condition, it is possible instead to choose not to be subjected to it. Nowadays telling about time, claiming its value and centrality for our life without undergoing its impositions, fashions and phobias, it is and wants to be an act of resistance.
ITA - Questo lavoro è una riflessione sul tempo, su come si dilata, si restringe e assume ritmi e forme diverse a seconda di come lo si interpreta. Il tempo cambia chi lo osserva e ugualmente è modificato dal suo osservatore. Indagare sul tempo porta alla ricerca di un equilibrio fra la nostra natura, finita e limitata, e l’indefinito di un qualcosa che non si può né toccare, né vedere. Così, musicalmente, la ricerca di un equilibrio si traduce in un alternarsi e miscelarsi di melodia e rumore, atmosfere dilatate, vicine alla drone music, e groove secchi ed essenziali. La scelta della strumentazione va in parallelo con la ricerca di essenzialità e semplicità: una manciata di sintetizzatori, qualche campionamento e molto no input mixer come fonte di suoni/rumore e di manipolazione del materiale sonoro. Il sound, la tracklist, dove l’ordine delle tracce e la scelta dei titoli portano l’esigenza di raccontare un viaggio, l’idea stessa di pubblicare un album nel 2021, sono tutte scelte consapevolmente fuori dal nostro tempo. E’ necessario essere esterni all’oggetto che si vuole studiare e, se non è possibile emanciparsi completamente dalla condizione temporale, è possibile scegliere di non esserne succubi: parlare di tempo ora, rivendicarne il valore e la centralità per la nostra vita senza subirne le imposizioni, le mode e le fobie è e vuole essere un atto di resistenza
